Number your PDF

Put page numbers in any corner or centred, as plain numbers, “Page 3 of 12” or your own wording. Skip the cover, start from any number, and preview it before you save. Your file never leaves this browser.

    How it works

    01

    Add your PDF

Drop a file in. The preview shows its first numbered page.

    02

    Choose the look

Pick a corner, a format and a font. Skip a cover page or start counting from any number.

    03

    Download

The numbers are added as real text on top of each page. Everything else in the file stays as it was.

    Questions

    Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The numbers are added by JavaScript running in this tab. Nothing is sent to a server.

How do I leave the cover page without a number?

Set Start on page to 2. The first number goes on page 2; set First number to 2 as well if the cover should still count as page 1.

    What does {total} count?

It is the last number that will be printed. With 10 pages, a skipped cover and a first number of 1, the pages read 1 of 9 through 9 of 9.

What about sideways or cropped pages?

Positions follow each page as your viewer shows it, so “bottom centre” is at the bottom of a rotated page too, and numbers stay inside the visible area of cropped pages.

    Can I use other alphabets?

The three fonts are the standard PDF fonts, which cover Latin letters only. Numbers and wording such as “Page”, “Seite” or “Página” work; other scripts will be refused with a message.
